Gary Vaynerchuk: Gary Vaynerchuk - Stop crying, think, wipe your tear and crush it! ...

  • Daniel Kemp · 11 months ago
Ya Gary. If you want to win you got to crush it.
  • Rosh - New media photographer · 11 months ago
I almost gave up a couple days ago. Didn't want to did it anymore. My prospects where based on the opinions of those downer people reporting the world to me on TV and internet.

I said F- it. I'm going to make it work anyway. Just do what I need to do and crazy - the phone has been ringing everyday since with cool new projects and work.

Once again. You are spot on. Stop crying and get to it. "crush it"

    Rosh
  • Andy Brown · 11 months ago
    Spot on Gary.

You are absolutely right, there is so much opportunity it amazes me that some people just can't see it.

Some people need a roadmap to success, they have no belief and want success handed on a plate.

Unfortunately it takes work - lots of it and particularly at times when we don't feel like it.

It amazes me that you just went with the idea that WineLibrary.tv would be a success, in fact it seems you did everything to ensure it would be.

    Keep on crushing it.

    Cheers

    Andy

That's the secret, Gary! When we all get back to basics, when we all think about the positives and focus on the gifts and blessings that we all have, then things turn around. It starts with us, then it spreads to everyone.

That's when recessions end. That's when that entrepreneurial spirit comes alive and consumes us to do better things. Great talk!
  • David Dadekian · 11 months ago
Too true, I will confess to being guilty of crying about stuff many a time. Sometimes I need more of a positive attitude. I really like the concept behind moving over. I've got to just move over a little bit. Thanks.
  • Mario · 11 months ago
Good advice, but what I've got to do is stop watching Gary, get back to my site, and start crushing it! See ya!
  • Chris Guillebeau · 11 months ago
Dude, thanks for crushing it! I am suitably inspired to do the same. Keep it up.
  • DanM · 11 months ago
We appreciate you not crying and reminding us not to either.

    Back to the hustle...
  • Jim Marks · 11 months ago
    Simply.... Thanks.

I like how Canada is in the back. But the only thing I can't find out still is does wine library ship to Canada?
  • Missy (from Groovy Vegetarian) · 11 months ago
Crush it!!! There is nothing wrong with finding balance and at times giving oneself a "break".

But i totally agree with you, Gary. If you want to be big, you gotta bring it big. And hustle hustle hustle.

It is the American way to hustle. And i love it.
  • Jessica Levn · 11 months ago
Very inspiring and simply honest. Thanks for keeping it positive and keeping it real. Sometimes we all just need a quick reminder.
  • suikagirl1 · 11 months ago
I live that daily, babe.. and try to encourage as many as I can to do the same!

As my twitter bio says "Even when you're in one of life's valleys, the sun still shines!"

Focus on the sunshine and you're day will always be bright!

Keep up the wonderful passion for encouraging others... mmwah!

    Great stuff Gary.
Lance Armstrong is one of the ultimate examples of wiping the tear and crushing it AND he is visiting our fair country at the moment.
    When are you coming?

    You go Gary. Rock on!
  • oscarfalcon · 11 months ago
Wow, that was, wow. Awesome !
Thanks for the pep talk, I needed that right about now, and you're right. Move forward, maybe a little to the left or right, but forward.

"So much opportunity in this tough economy." You said this in your last gv.com video and also this one, and it's been going thru my head a lot these days. I can just feel it's true.

Your messages, Gary, help inspire me to work hard and avoid any kind of "crying sessions" I might have. Not all days are easy but I'm focused and determined and I believe in myself as much as I believe in you.

Thanks for firing things up around here man!

hustle and work your ass off!

w/the economoy, peeps are scared shitless to go after it, so, for those who actually do step it up and kill it, they are now even further ahead of those who are just sitting on the fence scared to take action

I have to find a new way to say "Well said GV" because I love your approach to life. Our cup overflows and most people spend far too much time whining instead of waking up each day realizing that EACH DAY, EACH HOUR is a GIFT. And we should live LIVE outrageously loving, giving, caring lives. And whatever we want to make happen- we have EVERYTHING WE NEED INSIDE OF US to make it happen. Stop waiting for someone else to lead the way!! "If it's meant to be, it's up to ME" Make it happen and be grateful that you can.
Thank you again for being you GV.

Gary, As per usual you are 130% right!!!! If ur going to make a business work, it has 2B business as usual with an unusually good attitude!!!! Americans need to stop having a pity party & get w/ the game. We need to be more grateful 4 the blessings that we have!!!!!! Thanks Gary!!1 :)
  • Debbie_L · 11 months ago
Gary, you're so right. Most people focus their attention on what's wrong, instead of what's right. That little shift in thinking brings a dramatic change in results. Thanks for kicking my butt.
  • Milos · 11 months ago
When you have a task at hand, go out there and execute...there will be plenty of time to unwind and slow down when needed.

This is one of the things I have started to focus on myself in 2009 and with only 3 weeks in it has been a tremendous improvement.
  • jim · 11 months ago
We live in the United States of America, the best freaking place on the planet. You can start a business in your boxers sitting at home, you don't have to bribe some official for some BS license, you don't have to deal with government corruption, and you don't have to fear that some band of roving lunatics is going to bust down your door and steal everything you've worked hard to achieve. The United States is a beautiful place and I'm thankful every day that I was born here, that my parents emigrated here on a dream, because there are plenty of other places that are not as forgiving.
  • @maxbeatty · 11 months ago
I won't say you single handedly turned my day around, but I'm now ready to stop crying and crush it!
  • Tobin Truog · 11 months ago
    Gary,

Can't tell you how pumped I am to get to my day tomorrow.

Problem is, I hit a wall with my little company last week. I'm looking for work and trying to keep my websites for non-profits thing going. Ugh.

Thanks for the pump up. I need it.
  • Karen Goodman · 11 months ago
Everyone that I meet, or catch up with, always wants to know how I'm doing since the real estate world is in so much trouble. Last year, I found myself saying "I'm swamped." But, I ALWAYS immediately followed it up by letting people know that I'm not complaining and had my best year every last year.

Anyone that works on 100% commission shouldn't be allowed to complain about being busy. Especially in real estate in 2008-2009. I know I'm fortunate. I work hard, but I'm still fortunate.

I'm glad to hear you say it out loud. We all get fatigued at times. It doesn't matter. Take a short break, then get back to work and take care of those customers supporting you.

people can understand that in hard times, the small businesses and the small budgets can move fast and agile... In hard times dinosaurs disappeared, and that's when the small mammals took over the world. now is the time when big things can happen but we need to CRASH IT!
  • digitaldean · 11 months ago
It's midnight & I'm moonlighting even though I have to be at the FT gig in less than 7 hrs. Only way I'm going to make the moonlighting into the FT gig is to keep burning it. People will think I'm nuts. I ignore it. As long as you spend time with fam./loved ones to balance it out (or take a break to watch a WLTV episode), you do have your priorities straight.
To paraphrase Tom Hanks, "there's no crying in web design!" Time to get back at it. Peace!

I'm tired from covering Sundance. I didn't want to go today. After all, what would it hurt to take one day off from the festival to relax and get some other work done? Right? I went anyway, and it was one of my best networking days so far this year! AMAZING! Great advice, Gary!
  • J DUbb · 11 months ago
    +1 Gary!

I have been unemployed since June and have not let that get me down, not one single day. Every day I get up and say "today is the day I am going to find that next great job," I don't but I tell myself I am and go through the entire day telling myself, "today is the day." If I sat back and did nothing but feel sorry for my situation I would not have met all the great people I have met along the way. I know I will have something soon and will do very well in that new position, no tears just passion and drive.

    Thank Gary!

I get in that same mood with The Hockey Card Show, sometimes I think I will just skip a week. But then I give my head a shake, look at the community that is growing on Twitter and smarten up.

Life is good, why stop there...

    Gary,

You're an inspiration brotha. Keep crushing it!
  • Ed Roberts · 11 months ago
We've all had those times in our life when we are overwelmeed and get that idea of "maybe today, I'll just skip it". Having over daily 1300 podcasts under my belt, I TOTALLY understand. But yes, you need to push through.

In the same respect, sometimes it's ok to take a break. There have been a couple times when the 7-day a week thing has kicked my butt enough that I simply needed an evening to turn the brain off. You have to be careful not to make it a habit, but a break can often give you the energy to accomplish twice as much as you would have if you plodded along exhausted that one extra day.

Good advice, people always need pushing, at it helps to succeed I am sure. Too many people are complacent, and it is the person who keeps going who will prevail, especially at times like these.
  • Christian · 11 months ago
"nobody gives a shit..." hell yeah. It seems to be the theme of the day. I have a post hitting on the 24th about this also. Stop bitching and go to work. America is suffering because we've become too soft. THATS the problem. Not the slow economy. Hard work is a good thing. We're gonna be lean, mean and getting rich after we figure that out.
  • Tom Langan · 11 months ago
Didn't pump one out on the 22nd though, did you?
  • Baytenders · 11 months ago
    Wise words.

We're in the cocktail business, which is starting to become a bit over saturated - no room to move - especially here in the SF Bay Area. Be But everytime I start to think, 'My niche is full, what's the point? Someone else is already doing what I'm doing' I think about how you flipped the wine industry on it's head - gives me hope. Gotta keep crushing, shaking, hustling...

    Liked the new angle btw.
  • Dave · 11 months ago
Vaynerchuk, you've got to be the most pretentious, annoying, know-nothing that has ever tried to talk about wine. Do us all a favour and leave off the subject. Have you nothing else to do? Why wine, why not some other subject that you know nothing about? You're like some other half-wit I saw that thinks that screaming and yelling and wetting himself with excitement is what passion for a subject is all about. Get real, get some education, get yourself a bottle and think about it or do us a favour and get lost!
  • cat peterson · 11 months ago
Great message Gary, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us daily. You are exceptionally motivational!
  • Sam With Traffic Is King · 11 months ago
That is the hardest part. Crushing it and continuing to crush it. Especially when everything in you is depleted. We do have to be thankful for what we actually have now. It could be much worse. That should be the motivation to keep doing better.
  • ierict · 11 months ago
I got laid off at X-Mas this year and while 45 other people that also got laid off were sad and walking around in a daze, I was thinking "This is a perfect chance to freaking crush it doing something else". I have a great family and great friends that are always there for me, getting laid off wasn't the end but the beginning.

America has become soft. Everyone has to be a winner and the loser gets a prize too. F that, people need to fail and businesses need to fail. No failure equals no success!!
  • Sue Adams · 11 months ago
We so agree! So many businesses around us are whining about the lack of sales. We're doing our best to look at 2009 as a fantastic opportunity to absolutely crush it. Competition and slow sales are great motivators to get creative, get even more hands on, be unique and work hard to survive and succeed. Since we can't expand into different locations right now to grow our business, we are instead focusing our website and using that to generate more sales in our store. We have lots of exciting things to come, but so far, we finally started our show! Only 2 episodes down, and MUCH improvement to be had, but we're trying hard, working harder and using this time to grow more than ever. Thanks for all your inspiration!
  • Andy Lacey · 11 months ago
Great inspirational message Gary. I'm in the UK, where we 'officially' went into recession today. Everything is doom and gloom (even more so than the past 12 months) but you know what? I'm feeling more positive than ever.

As the quitters disappear one-by-one, it allows those who are determined to succeed to climb above them, to come closer to their goals. So, although everyone should take your message on board, I'm glad that some people never will.

    Hi Gary,

Just wanted to thank you for being an inspiration that truly anything is possible.

On Saturday I sent an email to me list (please click on my name see the blog post with the same message) and have been staggered by the response.

    The message starts:

"Secondly I have an idea, but would really appreciate your feedback.

You see I’m passionate about St Andrews and I wondered if you would like to see more of the old grey town in terms of video clips. In fact I was thinking of a regular TV show where I get to share this magical place with you."

To date I have had 119 comments and proof that there is definitely demand for my idea.

The truth is I would have never entertained this video if it wasn't for your inspiration.

I will let you know when the first show is online.

    I'm going it for!

    Cheers

    Andy

It was great to meet you today at the Boston Wine Expo at the Seaport World Trade Center. You have been an inspiration to not only me, but also my family and friends. Like ierict states above, my being laid off has been a new beginning - quality time with the kids and the ability to be more involved with Cub Scouts activities. Thanks to my sister-in-law (who always comes through) we were able to receive complimentary tickets to the show. Not to worry, the Oyster Bay rep. will receive the pictures. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Boston.

I needed to hear this. In my head, i've been complaining about this and that. with all the doom and gloom on the news been scared to get out there and do business. but since seeing this, it shows me that a positive attitude can overcome the gloomy situation that the news portrays. Thanx man, needed that.

Hey, I originally saw this on Bukisa, great video. I have a question. I'm a little technically challenged...lol Now that Viddler is introducing their revenue sharing model, when you embed a video from there onto a blog, does it generate revenue even though it's on your blog and not on the site?

    Thanks a bunch :-)
