Social networking apps are just tools like a web presence.

Many companies don't need more than a page or two with basic info, while some benefit greatly with dynamic content, daily updates, forums, videoblogs, etc.

My local muffler guy does not need to Twitter, for twenty years he's had all the business he'll ever need.

Time is money and money is money. Everything has a cost/benefit ratio.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Half pregnant with Scott Simon of NPR

Maybe your heard about it but each wine mentioned in "Drops of God" got extra sales in Japan and in the countries where the manga was published. Now they just started the TV series which is also very popular. (Title in Japanese: kami no shizuku)

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Half pregnant with Scott Simon of NPR

They are more likely to embrace social media than some of the other stations that don't get it yet. They have more of a grassroots connection with listners also. I think social media is a perfect match for them. I'm surprised they don't use social media to raise money. They would have so much more funding.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Half pregnant with Scott Simon of NPR

I've been hooked to your vids for the last couple of months now and the things that you stress are so basic and powerful:

1. Crush It!
2. Get OFF your ASS!
3. Use the Great Tools!

My question is the latter, with so much out there what vid cam and soc net tools should I be using to get my brands to the masses?

Thanks Man...keep on keepin' on!

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Half pregnant with Scott Simon of NPR

This has leveled the playing field. So the message for them (like me) is just get on and do it, there are NO excuses.

For larger companies with masses of red tape, yeah you've just gotta cut through it. If that just seems impossible and nobody around you is prepared to join the fight then you've gotta ask yourself...do I really want to be part of this dying company? The message there is do it yourself, or join a group who ARE prepared to push the boundaries.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Half pregnant with Scott Simon of NPR

It is the wave of the future but more importantly it is the tide of now! Growth for your company, your business, or your personal brand will come when you embrace the power of viral and transparent communication. Transparent communication leads to openneness and sharing which develops trust between an employer and employee.

The greater the trust, the greater the employee satisfaction, the greater the retention of talent. All contribute to healthy financial growth and a culture that inspires people and their companies to not be "half pregant" but rather to "deliver" greatness.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Half pregnant with Scott Simon of NPR

Well, my brother drank it not knowing it was such a nice bottle. I want to replace the bottle but am confused. When searching online, some bottles of the same vintage are $37 and some are $71.99. The one that is $71 says that it's the Vt? What's that? I know he bought me the expensive one, but I don't want to get ripped off. Can you help me? PS-Kevin actually bought it at your dad's store in Springfield...Thanks a bunch. -Suellen from Wolffer Vineyard.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Half pregnant with Scott Simon of NPR

Some people say it's a cool movie, and some people say it isn't a cool movie. I think the only time I would actually watch it is if it was on television sometime.

But whatever. As much as that is important (like the old saying, without oars your boat will sail aimlessly", I think sometimes you just have to jump in and get started. For instance, if you're thinking about starting a vblog -- then start it today! Don't worry if it's not 'perfect' the first time! Just start and doors will open and everything will fall into place! And most of all you'll be moving in a direction of progress instead of sitting around thinking of how you want things to change in your life. Now get started! Best to you always.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Half pregnant with Scott Simon of NPR
