Short, to the point, but spelling it out for people. That's how you do it in a newspaper!

As always, you straight killed it in that interview! Awesome Job.

It kind of got me thinking, EVERY business needs a social media/internet marketing director. If you don't have one, you are leaving tons of money on the table.

Companies NEED to hire social media/internet marketers! GV igniting the turning point in our recession??

    Hey GV -

Do you think social media and internet marketing is equally as vital in every industry? For example, I am lucky to own a beverage catering service in a part of the country where there are a lot of young people with money that want to get married and have parties. My mom, on the other hand, owns a wellness center. Many of her clients are older people who aren't as internet savvy, or perhaps just aren't searching the internet for health-related services. I joined Twitter and immediately had a ton of feedback from bartenders, wine people, cocktail people, etc...Do you think she could see the same attention? Interested in your thoughts. Thanks GV.

Great piece Gary - thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed the interview on iV's show yesterday, On the Road with iV. Thanks for your time and especially for putting it out there for others to soak it up - we'll do our part to spread the thunder....Lyn Graft

Where are these 50 videos that you talked about?

Loved the article. I gave my first Keynote the other day on Social Networking and my friends said that they could tell that I was very passionate about this. I didn't do what everyone else is doing, reading off powerpoint slides, I kept my slides minimal, one liners, and spoke from my heart. I loved every second of it!

Excellent article Gary. I love the way you closed up the interview. It is true what you said about GV.com - I tell a ton of clients and friends to check out http://GaryVaynerchuk.com and watch all the videos as a prerequisite to us meeting about their web strategy. As always, thanks!

Great article. I’m learning how to use these methods in the art and children's book biz. Facebook is what clued me in (it’s about time!) KeokaChung's comment is right on... a lot of companies are not getting it.

Privet from Moscow! I'm also from NJ (exit 65), and working in Moscow for the year. I read the NYTimes at work and saw your interview--every point you made hit home. I'm in the "under-25" demographic you mention, and agree that the impact of social networking--and especially the interaction between inet social-networking and the real world--is paramount in business. Thanks for putting it out there!

Great article....I agree with you it takes a lot of work. I have found that social networks have helped gain valuable traffic and friends. I still am not on the GV level, but one day I'll get there. It is easy to get frustrated when starting out....we have been online for about 3 months now and it has been slow going. I know these things take time, but sometimes a little luck wouldn't hurt.

Great job, people will look back on you as one of the internet greats!

    Gary,

Thanks for the link to the interview. The key is being yourself. People will not want to follow someone that appears to be fake. Content is the importance, and letting your own personality shine through with your content, enables readers or viewers to make a truer connection. Keep up the amazing work.
