Had heard so many great things about you, but never really checked you out as I thought you were just about wine (and I'm not a wine drinker:) I realize now you are about SO much more. What an inspiration...thank you so much...I watched the whole thing. If/when you come to Vancouver...I'll be there for sure.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

With this presentation though I was able to share it with a couple of friends of mine who are really having a hard time being recently out of school and feeling depressed about their work situation (the first parts at least, this video is really long).

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

Everyone's on their smartphone these days. Strange to think that those marketing dollars are still being spent.

Thanks, Gary. I always like to hear your take on how things are changing.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

Where do you go? How do you prepare with work? I would be interested in following that story, but then again Gary is the man and perhaps sticking local is better.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

Can you clarify a bit? A big part of my revenue is affiliate commissions (I have 3 revenue streams: my own product, ad revenue and affiliate commissions). I'm a one-woman show and I connect with my visitors any way I can, but, IMHO, website owners need to know what's going on with their site, too, no?

I create content for my visitors, first and foremost -- not for the search engines -- but knowing what my visitors are doing, where they're coming from and what they're doing on my site, can make it a better experience for them (which in turn generates more revenue). Maybe it's different from my side of things: although I have articles, the majority of visitors are coming to my site to use my weight loss tools. It's a different kind of "content."

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

As kids, we used save our coke bottles so we could peg them at signs driving down the highway at a 100km (they were either glass or cans back then), that was our fun. There used to be litter beside all the signs so I guess it wasn't just us. I'd be gob-smacked if I saw that today.

I'm sure we'll continually be blown away by how things change and become the 'accepted norm'.

Great vid

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

I agree that "Every business should be in the content business" With the glut of information available we are going to look for experts to listen to in every product/service/interest. The ones who produce content that speaks o us will get our business.

Doug

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

I love how you have a way of bringing things right home. Truly, all those things you mentioned that were the norm... even a few years ago, is totally amazing.

"Every business is going to go into the content game... and should." Incredible nugget - I'm gonna quote you in my presos on this one too!!

Luv ya!

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

Not my highlight. I drank a glass of wine and got to listen to you talk, still not my highlight. The Ricki Lake reference that I was begging for finally made it into your talk. Thanks GV!!!
