That's evergreen Gary. Your post is just as great today as it was three years ago.

Do you really think Howard was trying to dissuade people from stealing his business?

To me he and the rest of the crew sound just like everyone else before they understand what new media is all about.

You are so right, he has come a long long way in the last three years. I quit listening to him when he went to satelite and only tuned in recently when I got serius for free with my new car. He was just as funny as ever and you gotta give it to him, his community will lay it all on the line for him.

He has definitely come a long way. His New Years Eve Twitter Drunk Dialing bit inspired my post today: http://t.co/Kp8zpUXT

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

WOW, this is from 2008. I wonder what he would say now? I agree with Gary V. Your life is as much a marketing tool as using some of the PR, marketing, prospecting of yester year. Howard realized that he's not as interesting and that scared him.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

I have NEVER found Howard Stern interesting, even remotely.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

This is AWESOMESAUCE - Point on Gary!

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

Bring this argument to his show (with live tweeting and anything else his bosses would allow) and it would likely be one of his highest rated in a long time...but only because of the GaryVee devoted...

Anyone pitched it to them yet?

This vid rawked!

Sam Title
Chief Executive Cofficer
twitter.com/thecoffice
facebook.com/thecoffice

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

Excellent vid and observations Gary! He is a self righteous man that can't even have an intelligent conversation without dropping the "F" bomb. His insecurity about social media is obvious, he's scared.

You rock and know what you're talking about....you have moxie!

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

When any of you make $100 million in a year just to talk, then maybe you can comment about Stern. Love him or hate him, the motherfucker's on top. He is a pimp and Robin in is whore!! I listened to his show for one week years ago and have never turned back. I KNOW that I made the right decission!!

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

Funny... specially since Howard has a "BookFace" account himself. And guess what? No one wants to see his ugly face. Stick to radio Howard, there is a reason you'll never make it on social media.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

Gary is awesome.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

Thanks Gary for the inspiration. Everything you said was dead on, and made me a believer within myself. I really appreciate how you motivate others to do what you're doing, vs how obviously Howard is suppressing other. You're the standard of who to be in Web 2.0. Thanks again.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

Great stuff. Truly insightful.

I can totally understand why you were looking so frustrated while listening to that. A lot of us have grown up being told what we can't do; we could never dream big because the opportunities weren't there. With the internet the opportunities ARE there, it's just a shame people like Howard Stern try to bring us down and hold us back.

Howard Stern's rant is just a microcosm of what is happening throughout old media. Time for some more agile content producers.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

Social networking is where it's at. If it weren't for social networking and blogging, I wouldn't have the friends and pen pals and connections that I have now.

I completely respect Stern, for everything he's done, but he just doesn't get it. Anyone would be a fool not to harness the power of social networking.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A reaction to Howard Sterns thought on Social...

Who cares about Howard Stern? He's good for interviewing porn stars, but nobody really cares about anything he says.

Stern is his own straw man. Spending even two seconds rebutting him is a waste of time.

And dude, less coffee. Really. It'll not only make your vlog more watchable, but it may save your heart in a couple years.
